Sara Ramirez wasn't born wealthy. Raised by a single mother, she remembers well what it took for her mom to keep food on the plates for Sara and her two brothers. Her mom worked two jobs, bagging groceries during the day and working as a nurse at night.
It was from her mom she learned the importance of hard work. As other kids played after school, Sara got her first job at 15 and worked ever since. She was accepted to University of Michigan, where she worked her way through college to get her Bachelors in Accounting.
